Cheese lovers rejoice! The beautiful and classy Chihuly Lounge at The Ritz-Carlton, Millenia Singapore presents its seasonal Spring Weekend Afternoon Tea with a delightful theme of CHEESE! Be enamored by more than thirteen cheese-based desserts creatively put together by Executive Pastry Chef Terence Pang during this Cheese extravaganza from 2 March to 26 May 2013.

The Spring Weekend Afternoon Tea features a live station of Strawberry Balsamic Salad with Mascarpone Sorbet, together with a choice of Cheddar Raisin Scones or Plain Scones. These fluffy buttery scones are kept warm in the wok and are best enjoyed with the lashings of jams and cream all available on display. My vote goes to the Mascarpone Sorbet which was refreshingly light with highlights of creaminess and milky sweetness, the perfect compliment to the crunchy olive croutons served alongside.

Savory bites include a MUST TRY Oven Baked Bacon Wrapped Potato with Honey Mustard, simple but well executed dim sum items such as Steamed Scallop Siew Mai and Steamed Vegetarian Soon Kueh with Sweet Flour Sauce and Sour Chili, and an indulgent Glazed Wagyu Beef Ball with Smoked Garlic.

And of course a decent spread of afternoon tea quintessentials such as finger sandwiches and canapes are also on the menu. Dont leave without getting a bite of the Scallop Sushi topped with Japanese Mayonnaise and Tobiko or Baked Eringi Mushroom with Basil Pesto or you will be missing out.

The dessert table which takes centre stage beneath an elegant shroud of white willowing flowers at the entrance of the Chihuly Lounge tempts with its screamingly adorable cartoonish Parmesan Macarons shaped and molded into white mice, charming tea cups of Coffee and Soft Guanaja Mascarpone Cream that taste like Tiramisu but with a stronger coffee essence, an extremely smooth and creamy Baked Vanilla Camembert Cheese Cake that was absolutely riveting and the compelling Goat Cheese Crème Brûlée which is not for the faint-hearted.

Spring Weekend Afternoon Tea at Chihuly Lounge is available on weekends from 2.30pm-5pm. It is priced at $52++ per adult, $26++ per child (six to twelve years of age), inclusive of freshly brewed and decaffeinated coffee and a selection from a range of over thirty blends of loose leaf teas from the Ronnefeldt tea collection.

    the dessert spread certainly looked like a quality one over quantity…need to start saving quota for wolfing them down.
