Crystal Jade Prestige’s Signature Weekend Brunch

Pamper your daddy this Father’s Day by treating him to an indulgent and sumptuous weekend brunch at the Crystal Jade Group’s newest luxurious concept- Crystal Jade Prestige. Set against the backdrop of Singapore’s central business district at Marina Bay Financial Centre, this contemporary Chinese restaurant is the ideal location to savour and enjoy the decadent Chinese delicacies with loved ones and friends.

For every weekend from 1 May to 26 June between 11:30am to 3pm, diners can customise their very own brunch menu by choosing 10 items from 5 different categories, namely appetisers, dim sum, BBQ meat selection, soups, wok-fried dishes and desserts.

From the Dim Sum section, we picked 5 that piqued our interest most. The first was this Steamed Dumpling with Shrimp & Black Garlic, which was a nod to the classic Har Gow or Steamed Shrimp Dumpling. Topped with a slice of black garlic to intensify the sweetness of the shrimp, this charmed with its presentation and that flavoursome profile.

Next to arrive was the Steamed Pork & Shrimp Dumpling topped with Caviar, a fancy version of the well-loved Siew Mai. Hard to fault when you have plump meat pouches complimented by large firm beads of salty-sweet earthiness that added a dimension of richness to the overall dish.

As for the Poached Beancurd Skin rolled with Prawn in Superior Broth, the highlight was actually in that lobster broth which the beancurd is bathed in. Thick, smooth and rightfully savory, we were truly thankful that the servers reminded us to drink up the soup, because “it had been boiled for many hours”, right before he cleared the steamer case away.

The Baked Abalone & Diced Chicken Pastry was also a great option for those who enjoy buttery flaky crusts encasing chunks of ingredients that were nicely creamy with a deletable chewy bite.

For Appetizers, we went with the crispy Deep-fried Fish Skin with Salt and Pepper, sprinkled with an moreish combination of chopped red chilli, spring onions, garlic and the likes. Not too oily but still pleasantly sinful, this was great to munch on in between the Dim Sum and while waiting for the other dishes to arrive.

The server highly recommended we order the Crispy Pork Belly from the Roast category, which we did. And although the portion was painfully small for four people, the crackling on that fatty meat was an absolute delightful crunch and even better when dipped with some mustard on the side to perk up the succulence and juiciness of the pork.

For Soups, we had the Chef’s Special Soup of the Day which was a nourishing and satisfyingly comforting concoction of cooked pear and chicken. Light and delicately soothing, this really ought to be a mainstay on the menu and was one of our favourite moments that afternoon.

Moving on to the Wok-Fried Dishes, we chose the Simmered Fillet of Garoupa with Egg White and Sake for a healthier option and while it did look rather plain with a lack of colour, the clean flavours accompanied by the boost in depth of flavour contributed by the sake in the wok did win us over.

Other alternatives include the Pan-Fried Kurobuta Pork with Wild Fungus in Chef’s Special Sauce and the Pan-Fried Quail Fillet with Foie Gras Sauce and Red Wine if you were looking for something more substantial and meaty.

Finish off with a Chilled Mango Puree with Pomelo and Sago for Dessert and this crowd pleaser is sure to bring a sweet end to your meal. Thoroughly enjoyed the little pops of juice from the pomelo and sago which sure added a welcoming tartness to balance out the saccharine notes.

Diners are also offered other choices such as the refreshing Lemongrass Jelly & Sour Plum in Lime or the interestingly unique combination of Chilled Black Sesame with Coconut Milk.
