Noshery By Nosh @ 9 Rochester Park

Tucked away in the quiet enclave of Rochester Park and just a level below the upscale Nosh restaurant, is the more casual and cosy version sister cafe- Noshery. Enshrouded with greenery and the ideal escape away from the bustling streets, this place is the answer for cafehoppers looking for a hidden gem that is serene and peaceful. Accompanied by great coffee, good food and the touch of tranquility, it is not hard to be charmed by this neat space.

We dropped by on a Saturday to try their Weekend Brunch menu and was led to the al fresco area as the area downstairs was unfortunately already full. There was nothing much to complain about though because the upper deck had a theme of wood and whites, bathed in natural lighting and almost perfect for taking photographs. With high powered fans covering almost every corner too, sitting outdoors in our heat was pleasantly bearable and enjoyable even.

The menu is decidedly modest, with the price range of the brunch dishes such as Pancakes and Full Monty ranging from $14-$32. Not the most affordable but quite expected, taking into account the postal code of the place.

Between the three of us, we started with the Crab Benedict $20, which was a twist on the usual ol’ Egg Benedict. This version featured crab cakes instead that were stuffed to the brim with real sweet crab meat and smothered with a piquant coconut curry which added a satisfying richness to the overall dish. Needless to say, the eggs too were beautifully poached and flowed on cue.

We also ordered the Nosh Burger $22 and a side of Truffle Fries $7 as a filler. The former was prepared Medium Well as we requested and the patty was nicely seasoned with just the right amount of juiciness retained in every bite. The highlight however was the sambal mayonnaise which complimented the burger with its fiery creaminess. The burger also comes with Garlic Fries which were honestly a tad more flavourful than the Truffle version, with bits of garlic that gave it an appetizing punch.

Overall, Noshery by Nosh is a lovely hideout away from the streets and surrounded by nature. The food, though not exactly cheap or mind-blowing, does excite the taste buds with its oriental touches and twists, while the place itself is idyllic to unwind and relax. Worth a visit if you are around the area!
