Christmas ’17: A Sparkling Christmas @ Goodwood Park Hotel

Year end is almost round the corner and the most magical season is finally here again! Yes, I am talking about Christmas and what better way to celebrate the festivities than having gourmet food with family and friends? This year, Goodwood Park Hotel has got your back with its list of scrumptious takeaways which you can enjoy at the comfort of your home, next to the Christmas tree. Here are a few that we have shortlisted just for you:

Go big or go home with this Black Pepper Coated Roast Prime Rib of Australian Beef $398 that is sure to make a statement when it takes centre stage on the dining table. Roasted to the perfect shade of pink, tender on the inside while maintaining its charred exterior, the bits of peppercorns also add heat and depth of flavour to the prime rib. This is best enjoyed with the Thyme- Merlot sauce served on the side for a sweet finish.

Another signature item is the Slow Roasted Ibérico Pork Belly with Crackling– done with such skill that you can always hear a legit loud crackling sound when you bite into that beautiful roasted brown skin. Stuffed with pickled cabbage, we like having our slice with a dash of apple sauce and pork jus for just the right balance of sweet and savoury.

Two new turkey specials to look out for this year on the menu are the 12 Treasures Turkey $268 and Roast Turkey Roulade with Pork and Chestnut Stuffing $168. The former is your classic whole turkey which can feed up to 10 people, stuffed with 12 Chinese “treasures” such as abalone, lingzhi, water chestnut, salted egg yolk etc. Created by the Master Chef of Min Jiang at One-North, this majestic creature marries the east and the west so harmoniously. We dare say that even Grandma would give her nod of approval to this juicy turkey that has also been marinated in Shaoxing wine!

Not to be missed too is the Roast Turkey Roulade which is the boneless rendition of the previous item. Made for smaller groups, this is fuss-free and easy to slice through for everyone, especially when carving a whole turkey is not your forte!

One of my favourites from Gordon Grill’s is finally available for takeaway this year! The Cold Capellini Pasta with Alaskan Crab, Ebi Caviar and Truffle Vinaigrette $108 feeds about 4 people easy. Al dente, springy and refreshing, there is nothing to fault about the capellini. Topped with some caviar and alaskan sweet crab for a touch of decadence and luxury, who ever said you cant do fancy at home?

And of course the little kiddies are not forgotten with this Silent Night Sphere $28 that will make both the young ones and young at heart squeal with delight when warm chocolate sauce is poured over the gorgeous deep-blue celestial orb, which then melts to reveal more sweet treats! Shall not spoil the surprise here but this is the perfect Christmas gift for those blessed with a sweet tooth.

To complete your feast at home, Mini Mousse-icles $16 for 3 pieces are also available. My vote goes to the Yuzu one with its bright yellow shell and purple edible flowers which is a delight to the eyes and a punch of summer to the tastebuds.

Takeaway gourmet treats will be available at The Deli from 1 to 26 December 2017. Advance orders of five days are required and guests may visit The Deli from 9am to 9pm daily to place their takeaway orders. The last order date is 19 December 2017, 12pm.
