Christmas ’17: A Chocolate Christmas @ Regent Singapore

It is going to be a chocolate affair at Regent Singapore for Christmas this year as the hotel’s restaurants offer chocolate-themed yuletide treats for this festive season! Most notably of course is ‘The Nutcracker’ Afternoon Tea at Tea Lounge, Lobby Level that will be launched from 1 Dec 17 to 1 Jan 18.

The Festive Three-tier Afternoon Tea is available on weekdays and it is served as a three-tier stand consisting of an assortment of seasonal finger sandwiches and savoury highlights; alongside classic
butter and chocolate scones served with Devonshire clotted cream, strawberry preserve and traditional lemon curd. Sweets are served à la minute and you can expect to be enthralled by the theatrics of Chef’s Chocolate Snow on Fire that is set aflame before the white chocolate melts over the lemon yoghurt mousse, paired with the refreshing raspberry sorbet!

And then over the Christmas Weekend from 23-25 Dec, look out for the decadent Chocolate Garden dessert spread that is all things chocolate and almost all things edible! Yes, even the soil is made up of quality Valrhona chocolate buttons. I personally thought that those toadstools were the most adorable ever! This would definitely be a hit with the kiddos.

Keep some space for the Chestnut Valrhona Dark Chocolate Cake which has a nice earthy flavour with crunchy bites of grounded chestnuts and the Santa’s Chocolate Spheres that is sure to bring some Christmas cheer to your day.

Over at the Basilico on Level 2, there are also other mouthwatering desserts such as the Passion Chocolate Mousse, Bronte Pistachio Crème Brûlée with Amarena Cherries and Chocolate Rum Financiers offered at the respective lunch and dinner buffets. Of course there is also a whole line-up of festive savoury takeaways available at the Festive Booth and Dolcetto by Basilico, Lobby Level. This Roasted Aged Rum-infused Whole Turkey with Rosemary Roasted Pumpkin and Chestnut Stuffing ($222 – 4.5kg) for starters is sure to make an impression with your guests when you serve it on the dinner table, alternatively the Acacia Honey-glazed Gammon Ham ($172 – 1.5kg) and Slow-roasted Roman-style Pork Belly ($178 – 2kg) are other options to consider for your Christmas home experience!
