Christmas ’17: A Dazzling Festive Celebration with Capella Singapore

It is a dazzling affair for Christmas this year at Capella Singapore- the urban oasis in the heart of Sentosa island. Capella is the ideal location for a romantic getaway if you want a short break from the cosmopolitan city life but do not wish to hop on a plane.

I had a staycation (one of the best by far) at Capella before and dined at their restaurants a few times now. Each experience here has been nothing short of memorable and I would highly recommend it for a special occasion such as Christmas!

The Knolls

For a fancy set dinner with a South China Sea front setting, the resident restaurant is offering 3/4 courses from $78++ for adults and $48++ for kids.

Options for the mains cater to all including vegetarians with choices such as Grilled Asparagus, Oven Baked Halibut and Lamb Noisette. The former comes scented with black winter truffle for a touch of luxury while the buttery flatfish was laid atop a bed of pumpkin and chestnut cream for a sweet finish. The cream which you might faintly recognize is similar to the one that is usually used in Christmas log cakes- nutty, rich and a little decadent.

Chef’s Table

For the first time ever too, the Chef’s Table by Capella Singapore will be open for Private Brunch Affair at any time and any day in December. Bookings require a minimum of 10 persons and guests will get to experience an intimate dinner with each other and the Chef as he whips up dishes such as Orzo Risotto with Mushrooms and Pumpkin, Foie Gras Custard with crouton of Gingerbread and Boston Lobsters.

This epicurean extravaganza will cost $258++ per adult and includes 2 hours of free flow Taittinger Champagne, beers, wines and soft drinks.

For Christmas Day itself, look forward to a Splendid Christmas Brunch that will appeal to both the adults and little kiddos! Think free flow of Taittinger champagne and kids-friendly activities with the theme Once Upon a Christmas. Also exclusive to this brunch would be the gluten-free Vanilla-Greek Yogurt Log Cake with Lemon Verbena Curd- a nod to the low sugar and healthy eating initiatives that Health Promotion Board (HPB) is currently promoting. Floral, creamy with sourish notes, one would hardly believe that this was a low-calorie cake!
