My Top Dessert Places In Adelaide

It’s a well known fact that I have a major sweet tooth. Chocolates, cakes, ice-cream- you name it, Id probably love them. Anyway a few people have been asking me where the best dessert places in Adelaide are, so I have decided to compile a list of my favourite sweet places in this city. And since this is my list, it’s also based on my opinions so you probably may or may not agree with me but to each its own.

Right at the top of the list at No. 1 for me is good old CHOCOLATE BEAN
18 Union Street, Adelaide SA 5000

Chocolate Hazelnut Heaven
Chocolate Bean Round 2!

Nobody makes chocolate the way Chocolate Bean does. Love everything about their desserts, the coziness of the cafe and the friendliness of the staff. Maybe Im just biased because of its super convenient location. This is a favourite with the housemates and I! Must tries here are the Indulgence Plate, Chocolate Filth and their cakes on display.

Next..tied at No. 2 is THE AVIARY DESSERT KITCHEN
227 The Parade, Norwood 5067

Sundaes at The Mac Factory

A couple of weeks back, the Mac Factory had a free sundaes giveaway/fundraiser for the Salvos. Now, they’ve officially added the yummy sundaes to their menu and what better day to try it than on an awesome sunny 27 degrees day :)

I enjoyed the sundaes :) Tastes as good as they looked and with a price like that..definitely worth it especially with the sunny weather of summer coming up!

You know how each time when we are made to wait really long for our food, we’d say ‘the wait better be worth it’ and more often than not, it is? Well, this time we were a little disappointed because the food tasted pretty ordinary and nothing that fantastic. The service though good was very haphazard because they were shorthanded both outside and in the kitchen so sometimes it was difficult to get hold of a waiter for your request. Nevertheless, the company definitely made the wait worthwhile :)

Chianti Classico

Known as Adelaide’s ‘Best Breakfast Place’, Lara and I came here for brekkie after climbing Mount Lofty yesterday. Two hours of trekking through steep muddy slopes in heavy rain and wind, boy were we glad to sit down to a yummy breakfast. The food came really quick because we told them we were in a hurry, with only 45 min to eat since Lara had to rush back for MPPD! :)

Was not a big fan of the chestnut puree but Aakriti loved it so personal preference I guess :) I only like chestnut nuts =P

 Au Matin Calme

Loved the layout of the place. Very bright and airy. Makes you feel happy sitting there having heart to hearts. Will definitely go back to try their high-tea at $20/person after Easter! :D Oh and they will be opening a second branch on 100 King William Road in May! Look forward to that :)
