EST again!

Brought Mummy and MP here for the pizza and I sorta raised their expectations a little bit by telling them how yummy it was but thank goodness they were not disappointed! Even mummy who does not normally eat pizza, thought the ingredients were very fresh and crust well made. And of course needless to say, MP did not have much trouble polishing off nearly one entire pan!

I ordered my usual- Prawn and Mushroom

Sunday Brunch @ Barracks House Dempsey

My close friends know I have 2 ultimate favourite places that I have to visit whenever I am home- TWG and Barracks House Dempsey. I even have tags specially dedicated to them!

Be it the amazing High Tea Buffet or the skinny pizzas and super good desserts.. it’s no secret that Im a big fan of this place and that it’s a definite MUST-TRY on my list <3

WILD TRUFFLED MUSHROOM $23
Roasted mushrooms, garlic, truffle oil and parmesan

I have found my new favourite flavour of skinny pizza! The truffle oil is omggg amazingggg :) :) :)

My usual order of SMOKED TURKEY SWISS $25
Smoked turkey ham, emmental cheese, served with blueberry compote, rocket and cracked black pepper

MOROCCAN SPICED BABY CHICKEN $19
Marinated spiced baby chicken with fresh tomato-berry chutney. Served with truffle fries, sauteed fennel and broccolini
(ate everything except the chicken which I gave to Xin! hee)

Warm Toffee Chocolate Cake $9.50- Seam filled with toffee then poured over with warm chocolate toffee fudge

Lemon Macadamia Crumble $8- Lemon curd crumble

With a tender center of yummy chunks of Nata De Coco and macadamia nuts

We ordered an additional scoop of Vanilla ice-cream and made our own dessert Xin and Char style! :D

HAVE HAVE to make reservations! Cant stress the importance of that at this place or you wont get a seat!!

Casa Verde @ Botanic Gardens

Delish food, amazing service, perfect location- I think Ive found myself a new favourite place :)

Casa Verde, which means ” Green House” in English is a revamp of the group’s old cafe Les Amis and a collaboration between the Les Amis Group and Oscar and Tracy Pasinato of the popular Italian restaurant Buko Nero at Tanjong Pagar Road. It is located right at the Botanic Gardens Visitor’s Centre so it’s really easy to find!

Complimentary warm soft bread served with olive oil and vinigrette

Antipasti Misti $20- Mix platter of Italian Cold Cuts and grilled vegetables

Pizza Rustica $23- Tomato Salsa, Smoked Streaky Bacon, Asparagus (got them to change that to mushrooms) and Sunny side egg

Check out that runny sunny side egg! Xin didnt like runny yolks so I scooped it up with a spoon and ate it whole! Love it when the yolks pops in my mouth! :D

Absolutely in love with this place! The prices you see on the menu is exactly what you pay for because GST is already included in the prices and there is no service charge though tipping is encouraged and trust me you will really want to tip them because they absolutely deserve it! PLUS! They’re having a 1 for 1 special for their amazing pizzas from Monday- Thursday for takeaways so simply call their hotline, make your order and come down to collect it. 1 for 1 is definitely worth it when $23 is already worth it for 1 pizza!

They open at 7.30am for brekkie so I am definitely making a trip down to try that soon! :) Any takers?

East End’s BEST kept secret!

Amazing pizza, thin crust, few ingredients that taste so good together and only cost $18.50 each! :)

Prawn- Provolone, Black truffle, Prawn and Rocket

This was our absolute favourite :) The flavour of the black truffle was amazing and the prawns were so fresh!

Mushroom- Assortment of local mushrooms and porcini, smoked scamorza

Something about the rawness of the mushrooms together with the scamorza that was just so addictive

Today’s special- Eggplant, Zucchini and Danish Feta

You have have HAVE to try this place :D the thin crust pizzas are really good but you have to make a reservation though! They’re open 7 days a week from 5pm onwards. They do not have much seating space so if you make a reservation on the day itself like we did, you might get lucky with the last table but outside! Where we were pretty much freezing but the pizzas was definitely worth the cold. So do remember to book early :)

Skinny Pizza, Linguine, Truffle Fries & Cake

This is a compilation of two visits to Barracks House Cafe because I went there twice in a day! Once for brunch, went home to digest for a bit and came back in the late afternoon for dessert again. That was how much I enjoyed this place :)

SMOKED TURKEY SWISS
Smoked turkey ham, emmental cheese, served with blueberry compote, rocket and cracked black pepper

SQUID INK (SQUID INK CRUST)
Calamari, prawns, fresh tomato salsa, red onion, chopped parsley with jet black squid ink crust

LOBSTER LINGUINE
Half lobster linguine with crab meat and prawn bolognese tossed in black pepper sauce. Topped with salmon caviar.

MOROCCAN SPICED BABY CHICKEN
Marinated spiced baby chicken with fresh tomato-berry chutney. Served with yam crisps, sauteed fennel and baby bok choy

TRUFFLE FRIES, SWEET POTATO NIBBLETS, BEEF SAUSAGE

Never get sick of truffle fries. Love how it looks so ordinary but the after taste is just woww. However the sweet potato nibblets were only nice for the first few ones..after that it was just too much :(
