Skyve Elementary Bistro & Bar

Weekend brunch could possibly be the best term ever invented and it is no secret that I am a big fan. After all, what better way to start the morning-afternoon than the smell of fried eggs with bacon, oven toasted bread and freshly squeezed fruit juices?

Say hello to Skyve Elementary Bistro and Bar situated at the now defunct Monks Hill Secondary School who has only been on the scene for a few months but appears to be the perfect solution to that much needed meal on the last day of the weekend before you have to face the much dreaded day back to school or work on a Monday morning.

Crust Gourmet Pizza Bar

So my sister was rushing out her paper and dad was tired after a long day at work. It was already 7.30pm and we were all starving so calling for a delivery was the next logical step to feed our starving rumbling tummies. We did initially want to order Oishi Pizza because that was the only pizza place that Jie was willing to compromise on especially since she just came back from the land of pizza and was hence adverse to the idea of eating pizza. But Oishi had stopped taking orders for the night since they were pretty popular that night so I suggested Crust!

Crust Gourmet Pizza Bar first started out as a small family owned store in 2001, to recently being named one of Australia’s fastest growing franchise networks and had just recently opened their first international store here in Singapore. Ironically though I have driven past the Norwood outlet back in Adelaide several times, I had never tried it before because they did not do deliveries. We checked out the website online and found a few pizzas that caught Jie’s eye so this is what we ordered!

Adelaide Eats: EST again!

Brought Mummy and MP here for the pizza and I sorta raised their expectations a little bit by telling them how yummy it was but thank goodness they were not disappointed! Even mummy who does not normally eat pizza, thought the ingredients were very fresh and crust well made. And of course needless to say, MP did not have much trouble polishing off nearly one entire pan!

I ordered my usual- Prawn and Mushroom

You can refer to my previous post HERE for a more detailed description! :D

Casa Verde @ Botanic Gardens

Delish food, amazing service, perfect location- I think Ive found myself a new favourite place :)

Casa Verde, which means ” Green House” in English is a revamp of the group’s old cafe Les Amis and a collaboration between the Les Amis Group and Oscar and Tracy Pasinato of the popular Italian restaurant Buko Nero at Tanjong Pagar Road. It is located right at the Botanic Gardens Visitor’s Centre so it’s really easy to find!

Complimentary warm soft bread served with olive oil and vinigrette

Antipasti Misti $20– Mix platter of Italian Cold Cuts and grilled vegetables

Pizza Rustica $23– Tomato Salsa, Smoked Streaky Bacon, Asparagus (got them to change that to mushrooms) and Sunny side egg

Check out that runny sunny side egg! Xin didnt like runny yolks so I scooped it up with a spoon and ate it whole! Love it when the yolks pops in my mouth! :D

Absolutely in love with this place! The prices you see on the menu is exactly what you pay for because GST is already included in the prices and there is no service charge though tipping is encouraged and trust me you will really want to tip them because they absolutely deserve it! PLUS! They’re having a 1 for 1 special for their amazing pizzas from Monday- Thursday for takeaways so simply call their hotline, make your order and come down to collect it. 1 for 1 is definitely worth it when $23 is already worth it for 1 pizza!

They open at 7.30am for brekkie so I am definitely making a trip down to try that soon! :) Any takers?
